This very fine example of a Carlton House desk typically has the u shaped drawer arrangement around the sitter, no pigeon holes and the typical sloping curves to the right and left. Making this a very fine example of the specific Carlton House writing table type.

The Carlyon House desk is believed to have been designed for The Prince of Wales in the Eighteenth Century by George Hepplewhite and named after the Prince's residence of the time Carlton House.
